Wouldn't the alcohol affect the breast milk for the baby? That's some serious shit parenting right there.

i don't think alcohol goes straight to your boobs
if it did i'd have bigger boobs rn
so she could have been planning on pumping and dumping that night and mmornings boob juice

but this lady doesn't sound like a planner tbh

Yes and no. Drinking booze =/= baby drinking booze, but a very tiny portion of that alcohol can and often will get into the breastmilk, especially in the long run if you drink often. Mostly it's that alcohol gets in your blood, which gets into everything else, including lactation.

Now, as I understand it (anyone who knows better is free to correct me), only a very tiny portion of alcohol gets into the breastmilk, a portion that would be considered negligible, if not downright nonexistant, for any adult, teenager, even most children. However, for an infant it is incredibly toxic, in part due to low body mass and in part due to the way their bodies work. (Similar reason why giving an infant younger than a year raw honey can be dangerous, too.)

She could have been using formula.

Possibly, but I'm a little more concerned about the impaired judgement, reflexes and motor skills and the depressed inhibitions. People do extremely stupid shit when shitfaced, and extremely stupid shit and babies really don't mix.

this. I'm not opposed to parents letting loose every now and then (god knows you may go insane if you don't), but for goodness sake leave your infant with a sitter or a relative while you do it.
