Hmm... did it go okay? I'd heard that sometimes when people don't eat meat for awhile, their body forgets how to digest it.

I've been vegetarian myself for over 20 years, but health problems lately have stuck me with some weird cravings, like today I was thinking about a ham and cheese sub. But I've been afraid to indulge that sort of thing for fear that my body's unfamiliarity with meat will wind up making me sicker.

Your body will thank you for going back to a real human diet quickly.

My body thanked me for abandoning meat, actually. Just at this point my body hates me in general and is basically like an abusive parent that I've gotten to the point with where I'll do anything it suggests if it'll just stop hurting me for a little while.

Anecdote: I was a vegetarian for ten years, then started eating meat because of health issues. There weren't any digestion problems.

If you want to try meat, a small quantity of something that is high quality and non-greasy might be better than a ham and cheese sub.
pantswarrior: Spock thinks everything is "fascinating". (fascinating)

Hmm, thanks for the info. Though honestly I never liked "high quality, non-greasy" meat - I never cared for pretty much anything except hot dogs and sausage. That's why it was so easy to go vegetarian. And right now I don't dare eat anything except what my body seems to want me to allow me to eat. Small quantities, though... I can't even take more than an ounce of fluids without my stomach complaining, so yeah, small quantities. :P
