same here. she's not the best actress and she's one of those people who I'm only attracted to like 50% of the time (there are times where I think she's a sex bomb and other times where she just looks...off to me) and yet I'll happily watch most of the shit she's in. I fucking loved Tru Calling, ngl. I don't get it.

Tru Calling love here, too! I brought my DVDs up the other day hoping I'll get time to watch them when my shows go on mid-season hiatus. :)

I've watched most of the shows and movies Sarah Michelle Gellar is in. I know she's not the best actress in the world, but I have a weird sense of loyalty to her as well. I think it has to do with growing up with her as a young kid. I have a certain loyalty to everyone on Buffy.

It is like brand loyalty in a sense. You've brought into a persons performance and continue to support them throughout their career.

SMG definitely isn't the best actress ever, but she played the hell out of Buffy.

It's strange, how she's so AMAZING in that role and so bleh in everything else. Will never not like her, though.

SMG really did do an amazing job with Buffy. I can't see anyone else playing Buffy because of it.

She was really good in Cruel Intentions. I think the problem, to me, is that she kinda plays SMG in some roles. Like she is diverse (I thought she did a good job on that twin show), but something about her acting seems so her. Idk if that makes sense?

I will always love her though.

I also feel this same way about Alyson Hannigan. Lily rarely stopped being Willow for me, because I kept seeing and hearing all the mannerisms and intonations and body language she'd used for Willow.

Lily in the first season, when she still had Willow S7 hair, was hard to separate from her previous show. I still see Willow crop up in Lily on HIMYM, but it's not as bad as in the first few seasons to me.

I got to see her at a con a couple years ago and she was so funny and nice. She's one of those people that makes me think I'm not completely a Kinsey 6.

I had the exact opposite experience with her but I always thought it was because it was the last day of the con so she was probably just mentally done with it and also there was an asshole ahead of us in line that probably pissed her off since he'd pissed everyone else off. I was still annoyed that we'd paid money for a signing and she was rude and dismissive when it was our turn, though.

I like her too. I haven't seen much of her real-life persona, but I remember being impressed by the way she handled getting Punk'd (I had a friend that was expecting her to flip out, but she stayed cool).

Also, to this day I will always attest that she did a better job channelling Sarah Michelle Geller in the Buffy/Faith body switch than visa versa. So I don't think she's a bad actress at all.

That's why I like her, too - I just like watching at her and the particular energy she brings to any role, even if she isn't all that great at one role or another. It's the same reason I like Michelle Rodriguez and follow her stuff obsessively.

Secret 10 - Eliza Dushku (actress)

I watch nearly everything she's in even though most of it sucks. Mostly because she's nice to look at. It's really shallow and feels weirdly like brand loyalty or something. I don't even think she's that great of an actress. But she seems like a really cool person.
