Isn't Sansan the most popular ship though?

Gendrya has more fanfic on AO3, but that doesn't say much. Either way, there's a lot about Sansan that is sort of "conservative" in viewpoint, from what I've seen (I have a lot of Sansan fans who routinely complain about how hard it is to find fic that isn't just deeply sexist or creepy-without-acknowledging-it's-creepy).

even if it were, the percentage of people who ship at all in that fandom vs, say, Hannibal's fandom, is pretty slim. Like was pointed out above, it's the nature of the fandom itself (a huuuuge portion of Hannibal's fandom was born and raised on tumblr or at the very least twitter, and in those media the Hannigram ship-- and other ships, but especially Hannigram-- are built up and encouraged by the writers).
