I'm uncomfortable in my body

(Anonymous) 2013-12-02 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a girl, but I'm extremely uncomfortable having breasts and regularly go through periods of time where I get really upset about it. They are small, but I'm still uncomfortable and wish I had none at all. When I'm uncomfortable I usually wear a compressing bra so I look flat which helps a little bit while I'm wearing it. Today it's not helping very much and I'm feeling pretty down about it.
Are there any other people with breasts that are uncomfortable with them? Anybody have any ideas of other ways to deal with situations like this? Anybody want to share any stories about bodies and being comfortable or uncomfortable with them?

Maybe you're transgender?

No I'm not trans, though I had considered that maybe I was because of it for a while.

When I started to get my breasts, I was really upset about it for several years.
It felt like I was less of a person because of them. I'm now pretty ok with them, but sometimes I wonder how much is due to being attracted to a similar body type (androgyn type, small breasts), overcoming internalized mysogynie or gender queerness?? Like, sometimes I like what I see, but it still doesn't feel like "me".

I think I understand what you mean. Like, I don't feel like I look bad or anything, I just don't like it because it's not who I feel like I am. It feel like it's not -me- in the mirror.

I remember lying on my floor and crying when I started to get breasts. I was uncomfortable from the start. Sorry to hear you feel uncomfortable too, but I'm glad that you're pretty okay with them now. :(

yeah. It's nice to see that one isn't the only one.
idk if it helps, but I tried to remember what probably made me feel better about my breasts.
Hiding them like you did is always nice. I also looked up "normal breasts gallery" photos and photos of bigger male breasts/people identifying outside the binary. I exercised more (which made them smaller) and made me also like other parts of my body more, like my arms.

Oh the exercise thing, I was wondering if that would help or not, since mine are really small I thought that it might make them look bigger instead of smaller and it scared me out of it. I should probably do it anyway since it's good for you though. Thanks for the suggestions.

Naw, dude, especially if you do significant cardio, you're more likely to lose breasts than have them look larger. I have a friend who was into body building for a bit, and now is generally into martial arts and working out and she has barely any breasts left.

I feel the same way about my breasts. If I ever had the money I would definitely get them removed. I'm never sure if I'd want a completely flat chest or just like tiny A cup or something, but as it is I hate my breasts and they make me really really uncomfortable with my body.

Sorry I have no advice, but at least you're not alone in these feelings.

Sorry you feel the same way, but thank you for sharing it with me. Sometimes it helps to be able to talk to people who feel the same way, just so you don't feel alone anymore.

I dislike my breasts simply because they are large and cumbersome. Most of the women in my family have small breasts (regardless of how much they weigh) and I envy them for it. Conversely, they envy me for having large ones. One day, I would very much like to have a reduction.

My breasts have always been enormous and I haven't been able to go without a bra since junior high. Sometimes I'll sit topless after a shower and marvel at how wonderful it is to stretch and flex and have my back open to the air, and how much I loathe these completely useless (never having children) bags of fat on my front that keep from enjoying that freedom the way flat-chested people do. I plan to get a reduction, but I'm terrified of losing sensation in my skin, which I do like.

The only thing that helps is good bras that support my breasts enough so that I can stop being so aware of them. I found a lovely one recently that makes me feel a little better in my body. So, there's that. I hope you have little victories like that to make you feel better, too.
