Those descendants, of course, being those who did not benefit from the process in a systemic, long-lasting way, and who in addition would later be subjects of European imperial states during the colonial period in Africa.

So your argument is that they're not really culpable, because they weren't economically successful enough? Should have bought better bonds with that slave-trading capital, I guess.
