Oh thank god, I thought I was the only one. Ymir bores me to death. But I don't really ship Christa with anyone at the same time (except maybe in the sense of Everyone Is In Love With Christa, but that's more in jest than anything).

But then I don't really actively ship much of anything. I think the main trio's devotion to each other is really sweet, so I kind of OT3 them, but it's not like shipping shipping if that makes any sense. I'm way more interested in the world-building and where the story's going.

Never thought I'd see someone calling Ymir boring compared to Christa. I mean, wow. CHRISTA.

I am with you on the "I don't ship anything" stance though. This fandom is terrible for shipping in my opinion. None of the big ships do anything for me. I'm not an obsessive shipper but it's kind of a fucking bummer how bad they are.

Christa is a turnkey to a much more interesting storyline to me than Ymir is. It's as simple as that. Taken completely independent of the plot, they're both boring characters, but Christa interests me much more because of what we can learn through her.

On the shipping angle, I suppose it just feels out-of-place to include a romantic angle, it seems like it would be the absolute last thing on anyone's minds. It's the same reason I can't really stomach all the bizarre crack AUs.

Christa's backstory was interesting and refreshing to me. I always had a feeling she was being set up as a saint in order for it to be subverted, but the way in which it was subverted was not what I expected at all.

Ymir is snarky and hates everyone except for the one special person she loves and will do anything for. Whoo.

If that's what you got out of Ymir's story I feel bad for you.

If you haven't seen the same story again and again to the point that nothing about it interests you anymore, I envy you.

I know there is more to the story than I summarized, but after you see through all those other things, it really boils down to just what I got out of it.

There's definitely a mystery with Ymir too, she said reiner and bert were small fries and Eren didn't know what he was up against. Not to mention the Titan that called Ilse "Ymir-sama". She either deviated from 'the mission' or was never apart of it to begin with. She the only one in the series that's their own agent. We got more information about the titans out of her than anyone else, with exception of the latest Hanji/Connie discovery.

Plus I love her personally because she struggles between caring about people and being selfish, she goes back and forth between saving her friends and saving herself. She hated feeling ashamed of what she was and learned to get past that and live for her self and she wants a second chance at life, but a new life only holds value if she has people she loves (Christa) with her.
