Oh no I don't think good under pressure uhm uhhhh—

When they totally grow up, and Hoodsey and Carl are these young and upcoming entrepreneurs of almost everything. Like a muggle Fred and George Weasley, only with actual book smarts on top of the street smarts. Even if they don't have an actual steady job, they are probably scouted pretty frequently by the hr/owner of a startup company of whatever (those two come in a set because they are team bros for life).

And Blake would totally be one of the companies investors (because he believes in everything and i'm disregarding bankruptcy canon or can imagine him making his own fortune). He'd be that guy who comes by for a routine meeting to see how everything is doing, that the money he's pouring in is being spent all proper. So one of those days Blake recognizes Carl over there in some lab over yonder beyond through a window, and he just never got completely got over his crush (because he's romantic and believes in first love and childhood crushes).

And then he'd take an entry-level or similar position just to work next to him and bask in sassy genius. Blake would just keep following Carl around from job to job or sponsoring ventures they have.


Shit, that's not really meta.

Although I can picture that even through middle school and high school Carl and Blake keep stealing and re-stealing eachother's prized possessions. Carl would never admit he actually likes their "rivalry", and that it would sadden him if either gave up on the game. Blake, of course, has probably already given up on being considered a friend, but dreads Carl getting bored and just not stealing anything back. Meanwhile, Hoodsey is resigned to eye-rolls, but goes along with everything anyways, but only intervenes when Carl is moping around.

Oh man, now I want to read fic of them as teenagers who still act like kids around each other because they don't know what else to do, but they don't want to stop hanging out.
