I had a friend tell me once that "I wish I could be more like you but I just really need friends and don't like being alone."

I get what she meant but it was pretty weird.

It helped that we've been friends since elementary school and I really did know what she meant. I think I just said something like "I'd love friends or a partner to go with but I'm not about to let being alone stop me from doing stuff I want to". And then moved the conversation to something else.

I'm remembering this.
