Advice?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-03 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I think I made one of my friends mad. I linked her Tumblr because of a post (some stupid SJW thing) she reblogged to some people. It was not a post SHE made but she was mad about it. I deleted it when she asked and apologized. I don't know if I should just not talk to her for a few days or apologize again. She said she is in a bad mood and doesn't feel like talking to anyone. Which does happen sometimes so it may not have to do with me.

Just give it a couple days, and then go from there.

I'm a little confused on how linking (do you mean reblogged something? or did you link to her tumblr from another site?) makes you a bad person. That's what tumblrs are there for. Unless I'm just misreading this.

Either way, you've done what she asked and even apologized, I'd just let it sit for a bit now.

I'm a bit confused on that as well, but if OP apologized then I'm not sure what else there is to do. It might just be best to give her some time to cool off; maybe she'll come to you when she's over it.

(Or maybe she's being truthful and is just in a bad mood and doesn't want to talk to anyone. That sort of thing happens too.)

Linked it to another site. I apologized and said I won't do it again, so I will just wait and see.

Okay, anybody who puts content on the internet needs to understand that things posted on a public webpage are available for viewing by anybody with an internet connection. If they're upset about that, they're just immature. Even apologizing was probably more than was really necessary, but good on you for being the bigger person.

yeah chiming in to say I'm confused as to why she's so mad

It sounds like maybe you linked the post for other people to mock or roll their eyes at? If so, even if she didn't make it she did reblog it and therefore probably agreed with it and that might be what made her upset.

I'm agreeing with the others that you've done what you could for now and you should just wait and see what happens. Maybe in a few days if you don't hear from her, try getting in touch with her and saying something casual and gauging her reaction from there.

I also have a lot of sympathy. I got into a problem with a friend over a silly tumblr thing too. It didn't end well and apparently there was more to it than that but she never bothered to tell me and I'm still confused about what exactly I did wrong.

Sorry to get all me me me here. I hope things work out for you and your friend.

You don't need to apologize again. She needs to get over it.
