Kudos to you for realizing what is really important in life. But you shouldn't be disgusted every time you look in the mirror. You are not an insect and your physical body deserves more respect than that.

It's not so much "realization" as an apparent failure to be teased and trained into thinking otherwise by pop culture, I think...

And eh, if my physical body actually did what it was supposed to do, I'd give it more respect. As it is, the appearance matters very little, but when I was healthier, I was trying to stay in shape and build muscle not because I wanted to look better, but because I wanted to be able to do a wider range of things. Right now it's not even doing things it's supposed to do automatically very well, and I am not inclined to be tactful towards it.

And well, it's not EVERY time I see myself, I guess, because a few weeks ago I took some cosplay pics with enough makeup and staging that when I saw the photos, I went "...Holy crap, I can make myself look GORGEOUS!" It's still not a priority, but it's nice to know I can achieve it if I put my mind to it and have a little luck, so I must not be that terrible.
