There is no point in doing something half-way (unless circumstances change. But usually, if you're going to go through all the trouble of getting half-way there you might as well go the rest of the way.) And being loyal and fighting for what you believe in are very good traits.

Me? My ability to clench my teeth, growl, and apply myself towards a goal is something I take great pride in. I'm not the smartest, the strongest, the fastest, or the best, but I am the one who will reach the goal/earn the degree/find the job because I'm the one willing to do what other people won't.

I think that's an awesome trait and you'll go far with it. It's at least as valuable as talent if not more so in many cases.
