I'm not exactly a fandom veteran, but I've only told like 3 or 4 people I met in fandom my real name

ETA: I also really agree about tumblr, if maybe not for the same reasons (though I do agree with your reasons now that I think about them, but I think it's more a choice than anything - I still don't reveal my name or other personal info on my tumblr) but I wish fandom weren't localized there :/
