They'll fuck it up somehow. They'll either do something that will offend Polynesians and the SJWarriors will go apeshit (especially those that don't know shit about Polynesian culture) or they'll make some ultra-PC piece of dreck that ends up being even more insulting (I.E. The Princess and the Frog Boyfriend Who Can't Be Black in a World Where Racism Doesn't Exist Because We're Too Scared to Address It.)

I actually grew up in Hawaii and I'm not white, and I couldn't care less what the SJWs have to say about this movie. I'm going to see it regardless, because it has demigods and I love me some mythology from these islands.

Also, um... there's a lot of different islands and cultures that make up Polynesia. Each one has different value systems, beliefs, practices, and stories passed on from our kupuna. So there's really no such thing as "Polynesian culture". Polynesia might sum up one part of the world, but it does not represent all of us living here!

Yeah, I'll point out Disney was on a lose-lose situation with Naveen. If he's black: "What, a white man too good for her? Only token blacks in this token black movie?!". If he's white: "What, no black prince? Black princes not good enough for this whitewashed fuckery?"

Making him mixed race was the best compromise, since it dulled the complaints from both.

Whether racism needed to be the point of the movie is a way different ball park. If they didn't address it all, "Oh my god whitewashing history!", and if they did address it, they'd have to make the entire movie about it. And you fucking know they couldn't make it work in a children's movie. Any amount of toning down even a little would infuriate people.

Which is one of the reasons, I'm sure, why Disney really doesn't like doing non-white princesses.

Fuck, everyone was bitching that Frozen wasn't filled with the "natives" of Denmark, the Sami. Only white people.

Were the Sami native to Denmark? I know that they were in the north Nordics, but I always figured the Big Sandbar on the south Baltic Coast was standard Northern European/Vaguely Germanic.

Nope, they weren't. The Sami inhabit Norway, Sweden, Finland and a small part of Russia, but not Denmark.

The SJWs are constantly apeshit, its like someone has been force feeding ex-lax in the primate house. They don't know how to do any other response to anything, you can basically just tune them out now. They've killed their own voice by being so stupidly extreme.

As for Disney Princess from Polynesia, yeah I could enjoy that. Only if the Princess is from Tonga though. Lets see Disney handle two types of diversity at once. That would really be popcorn worthy (both the Disney Trainwreck and the SJW confusion about which freakout they should be having).
