I also enjoy Moffatt's Who more than RTD's, and I've enjoyed his female characters more than any of RTD's except for Donna (and RTD treated her horribly). Yes, the writing has a lot of problems. And I do recognize some of the problematic issues especially with what he did with River. And apparently loving these characters even though I recognized the problems makes me a terrible person somehow, but I don't even care anymore. I loved River. I absolutely loved that they had an older woman play the badass sexy love interest, rather than the typical young girl. Alex Kingston was awesome and amazing. And I loved Amy and Rory and Eleven and the weird little family they made....I never got that with any of the others. And I've enjoyed Clara. Yeah, I wish that Moffatt wouldn't get so carried away with his convoluted storylines, and I wish he hadn't done what he did to River, etc etc. But when I think of Moffatt's run I think of fun and adventure and when I think of RTD I think of angst and drama overload and tortured doctor manpain. I prefer the first. So sue me.

Pretty much! I loved Amy and Rory as a married couple with Eleven and the little dynamic they had too, and how Amy and Eleven ended up as best friends. I just watched their last episode actually, and while stuff does get convoluted in silly ways I just really love the dynamics. With River I do think they made her too focused on the Doctor and that was a bit disappointing, but yeah, I did enjoy that she was an older woman, and those little moments with Amy were nice.
