I'm on my phone so I don't want to type up a huge long thing so here is the short version: retconning the time war from being about time lords going mad and basically mutually destroying the universe with the daleks to being innocent Gallifrey with its billions of children being invaded was a cheap and bad piece of writing.

If it weren't for that I would have been mostly ok with it. (The Elizabeth stuff would still have been dumb though.)

Agreed about the retconning of the Time War. That was just such absolute bullshit imo. Didn't mind the Elizabeth stuff though. I liked her well enough.

If you feel up to typing up a longer post when you're not on your phone, then I'd like to read you full thoughts on it. If not, that's okay.

Wasn't Gallifrey having actual children a RTD thing? I thought I heard that Moffat went with the Loomed-as-Adults thing from the Audios being canon.

Idk if Moffat was Team Looms or not.

But yes, RTD made it canon that there are Time Lord children with the flashbacks to the Doctor and the Master.

Moffat though was the one who was all Helen Lovejoy "WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?" to prop up his plot for the Doctor undoing his destruction of Gallifrey and for some reason there are 2.47 billion children of a nearly immortal race and Gallifrey doesn't have overpopulation issues (lmao maybe it's bigger on the inside? hahaha).
