You could still do the dishes without bitching about it though. Sheesh.

This is about how you are treated though.

[OMG, this became really ranty, so I deleted it.]

That first sentence really just summed it up. If you treat me like I don't matter, then I'll bitch about having to clean up after you. If you treat me like a human being with feelings and listen to me so we can work out arrangements that we both agree on, I'm not going to complain about it later. I don't think I've ever met someone who doesn't follow this same pattern.

Because if it applies to you, this is always true, and no-one is ever just unreasonably whiny, lazy and entitled. Yeah, no.

Um, actually no. I've worked a lot with all these so called "whiny, lazy, entitled" people and once you treat them nicely, listen to them, and overall just treat them like human beings instead of wastes of space they suddenly, magically aren't lazy and entitled anymore.

Here's the thing: Once you turn 18, your parents are not legally obligated to take care of you anymore at all. Many people seem to think that somehow this is not the case, and that they are entitled to living a rent-free, chore-free lifestyle under their parents' roof and on their dime.

It has nothing to do with how people are treated but more with the fact that fucking doing the dishes is a small, small price to pay for how much money you're still sucking away from your parents by not having a job and living on your own, when they could easily just kick your ass out of the house.
