that's because it's done by professionals and probably photoshopped a little too

I love Ellen Page but that haircut is not my favorite. Sorry, OP. She manages to still be cute but not everyone can pull that look off.

This is a pretty simple look, but I agree, not everyone can pull it off. She def manages it though. (Give it a shot?)

Who is she? I like her hair too.

Ellen Page does have a hair type I envy. It seems light and thing but still carries some weight to it. And it sits straight, but also holds a curl (when applied by professional make-up artists, but still).

it kinda looks like it's been chopped off roughly in the back but I'm probably missing something...

I think it's just in a really messy ponytail, but I had the same thought.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-05 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
it looks kind of dry and gross there actually

I'm looking really hard. How does her hair look dry?

Secret 10 - Ellen Page (actress)

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-12-05 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the actress Ellen Page. She is a young woman with light skin, dark hair (it is either short and reaching past her chin or long and partially pulled back with some falling around her face), dark eyes and is wearing a brown shirt (possibly a sweater?) with light brown details and large cream-colored buttons. She is looking at the camera with a sort of wistful or lost expression on her face.]

I want hair like her. Specifically the way it's in this picture, but mostly because her hair seems to look good no matter what she does with it.

I got my hair cut like her in high school, OP. I loved it.

Because I've been there already, I'm sharing my tips:
Unless you have really wispy hair, you'll need to tell your hairdresser to thin it out a lot to get the same look. They can probably recommend a few products to add texture to the thin layers at the front and a smoothing serum to keep the flyaways down. You can get the extra little bit of volume in your pony tail by blow drying the hair on the top of your head in the opposite direction with your fingers or a comb. Expect to wash more often too if you don't already have bangs. They get greasier faster because you touch them more.

I think you'll look awesome. Have fun with it.

Go Ellen Page!
