Based on #9

What are some actors who love but when you saw them in a certain role, you thought they were terrible?

I know I have several I've thought this of, but the only one I can think of right now is Antonio Banderas in Interview With the Vampire. I thought he was horribly miscast and didn't do a very good job.

I think that was the first movie where I recognized subtextual sexual tension. O.O

I am not a big fan of Antonio Banderas to be honest. :|

It does have all that awesome subtext, doesn't it?

I like him in most things, but I can see how he's not for everyone :)

Oh god, that was a terrible miscasting. Even worse than Tom Cruise as Lestat. :(

Your icon is reminding me how much I disliked Fassbender as Rochester in Jane Eyre. After First Class I went on a Fassbender spree (he's fantastic!), but he did not work in that role for me. It was probably some combination of things, one being his accent, but it just felt off. I didn't finish it.

I did the same thing with Chris Pine and while I love him in everything else, his voice as Jack in Rise of the Guardians was a bit off-putting. I get why he was cast, I enjoy his voice, it certainly didn't ruin the movie for me, but I do get why some people don't dig him in that role.

Note to Self: Do not watch that movie.

And I did not get his voice in RoTG. Too old for me tbh.

He looked delicious, but yeaaa, it didn't work for me. Maybe you would like it though? I wanted to finish for the eye-candy but couldn't bring myself to go back.

Yea, that was most people's complaint. And I get that, it DID sound weird to have that grown up voice coming out of Jack's mouth.

I don't like a lot of those period style movies to be honest. So, I will avoid it just in case.

I did the same thing you did and went on a Fassbender spree and found I didn't care for the movie Fassbender did with Keira Knightley about Sabrina Spelman and Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud.

This is totes elam

Ooo, all I know about that movie is that there's spanking. After Jane Eyre I didn't bother; not a huge Keira fan and wasn't particularly interested in the story. (Also I worried I'd have the same issue with his performance, and you've confirmed this for me, lol.)

Gary Oldman as Dracula. I just... couldn't. No.

Oh god, Oldman was Dracula?! Ahaha, I can't get over the fact that Commissioner Gordon was a vampire, that's beautiful and bizarre.

DA, Oldman's acting was hit and miss in Dracula. He was great in the horror parts, especially as the old withered creepy Count. But when he went all young and sexy, it fell apart a little.... The movie will always be worth seeing just to hear Keanu fail at a British accent, though. XD

The only thing you've managed to do is make me want to see this movie. It sounds kind of hilarious.

I didn't like him as Sirius Black, either, even though I really appreciate him as an actor.
