Saturday 7 EST STREAM: Oi! Ozploitation!
First, I'll be showing one of my most favorite films Wake in Fright. It's not a horror film, though it is a particularly horrifying film at times. It's rather brutal, unsettling and strange. I don't want to scare everyone off it or spoil you for it, because it's an excellent movie and I want everyone to see it, but I can't be a jerk and not say that I'm being completely serious when I tell you all triggers warning apply. It does feature actual animal death, so I'll warn anyone when that part comes up.
As for the plot, Wake in Fright is about a bonded teacher (forced to serve out a teaching contract in the Outback as payment for his education), going off on Christmas holiday to visit his girlfriend in Sydney. Stopping in a mining town, "The Yabba," to catch a plane, he finds he can't resist the forceful generosity of the residents without causing a scene and ends up getting drunk when the beer won't stop flowing, losing his cash and way to Sydney in the process. From then on he must rely on the disconcerting "kindness" of the locals.
Next up is a bit more lighthearted film, Turkey Shoot (aka Escape 2000 aka Blood Camp Thatcher). And, by lighthearted I mean a wonderfully ridiculous dystopian film where "social deviants" are sent to prison camps for "rehabilitation" and punishment. People are killed in completely horrible and ridiculous ways and THEN some rich assholes decide to hunt a few prisoners for sport. There's also an Amish mutant for some reason. You'll know him when you see him. Again, all trigger warnings apply.
Then, if I'm not tired and you guys aren't bored we might watch Razorback, which is about a giant killer pig.
BE AT http://www.livestream.com/fingalsanteater at 7 EST. That's 7 EST.

(Same goes for the next two weeks. Yay, the holiday commitments of a choir member.)
