I've known people who were ignorant enough to buy into the misguided idea of feminism put forth in popular culture - you know, scary female supremacism - while still defending equality and spitting on sexism. So while it'll grind on my last nerve, I'll still give a dude the benefit of the doubt. But the very millisecond he busts out some evo-psych and/or rape apologist bullshit, fuck that.

I'm with you on that, especially the last sentence. My current boyfriend used to define himself as an "egalitarian", not knowing enough about current feminism and getting only a glimpse of it on tumblr. At first I was hesitant, because a lot of the egalitarian types on the internet follow the same pattern of MRAs. But I gave him a chance because he followed a lot of feminist ideals without knowing he did at first. After a lot of discussions, he now defines himself as a feminist instead.
