BNFs and/or pervasive headcanons and tropes that you can't stand

I will postulate that no matter how annoying a BNF or headcanon is, it cannot be more annoying than William Baring-Gould and his bugfuck insane weather-pattern-based Sherlock Holmes timeline.

The 'this character definitely has this (usually media trending) diagnosis' thing. I love it when someone presents a 'what if they had this diagnosis' perspective, especially if it's not the usual fare, but the 'definitely' people so often tell you you "don't get canon" when you disagree.

You mean like "Sherlock definitely has Aspergers/is a psychopath/high-functioning sociopath".

I'm totally late, but boy, did this description make me huff with laughter. Though I'm not opposed to Baring-Gould, I'm seriously tempted to adopt the "bugfuck insane weather-pattern-based Sherlock Holmes timeline" as an official name for his work.
