Oh yeah. All that is a recipe for a disaster many times. We were really lucky that I had no student loans (my husband does but we have almost entirely paid them off; we'll finish this year!! Yay!). Our wedding was really inexpensive (but super nice; we have friends who are florists, caterers, photographers and musicians who were very generous with their time/skills and my dress either cost 150$ or 300$, I can't remember which. I love Say Yes to the Dress, but every time I hear the price tags on those dresses it makes me cringe. LOL

And we totally did have our first kid in the first couple years of our marriage which was hard and in retrospect probably not a decision I'd make again (the timing, not the kiddo).

On snap, I'm happy that all worked out for you. That's so great.

I understand.

The price tags on Say Yes to the Dress are ridiculous. My sister got married only a couple of years ago, I accompanied her to a bunch of bridal stores and I don't see why anyone should ever have to pay more than a thousand for a dress.

My sister's was about $600 and it was GORGEOUS.

We are in complete agreement. :)

To me, $600 is ridiculous, too. Mine cost about $70 (1985, true). Then again, it wasn't "A Wedding Dress".
