So how do you trade pokemon now? I haven't done it yet and it looks like you don't go through the pokecenter anymore.

Go to the Player Search Center. On the top right is an internet connection button. Tap it and go online. There you will see people pop up under friend, acquaintance, and passerby. I'm a friend. When you want to trade with someone you tap their face and their profile will pop up. The option to trade is there.
