Re: Men with rape kinds (Themselves as the rapist)

Obviously nayrt, but to me, the first one does matter (if somebody were repeatedly fantasizing about giving me a flower, I would have found it rather creepy, but not nearly as creepy as the rape fantasy). As to the second one, IA. I would have still been uncomfortable, though.

I guess the problem is that I really don't get (can't empathize with) rape kinks. Emotionally, I don't understand how violent situations can be pleasant to fantasize about if you do not wish the subject of these fantazies any real harm.

Kinda the same way you can fantasize about punching your professor in the face for making you look dumb in class, while not actually wishing any harm to come to him and being utterly horrified if your unstable classmate actually does punch him in the face.

But you have a perfect right to not get it/empathize with it. Fundamentally, fantasies (including non-sexual or non-violent ones) that you wouldn't want to do in real life come down to mental/emotional compartmentalization, and it's totally fine if you don't get it, because not everyone compartmentalizes the same way.

True, but my fantasies about punching a professor would be born out of genuine frustration and anger? I cannot imagine any kind of positive/non-harmful emotion inspiring this kind of thoughts.

*and it was supposed to be "fantasies". Facepalm.

Somewhat true, but not always necessarily -- you could have rape fantasies of your victim being seduced by you and becoming willing halfway through, or your fantasy could be inspired more out of an enjoyment of control (or even a desire for control in some unrelated aspect of your life) and the hurt/violence/violation of a rape fantasy is just a form of catharsis through the time-honored principle of exaggeration -- you like the idea of control, so you fantasize about the most exaggerated and vivid method of controlling someone you can think of.

Enjoying control, of course, isn't necessarily a negative emotion. For example, firemen, doctors, police officers, are often people who want to be able to control other people's misfortune in order to stop people from experiencing misfortune, but one can imagine that being frustrated in your desire to have control by stopping bad things from happening could lead to fantasizing about being in control, period, which might manifest itself as rape fantasies even if the hurting/violating/scaring other people part isn't the fantasizer's kink, because the control part is their kink.

Oh. That... makes sense. More sense, at least, than my understanding of the situation (or rather, lack thereof).

Though rape fantasies don't have to be violent, and I'm saying this as a woman with such kink (completely fictional; I'm not even interested on role playing it) who prefers coercion over violence.
