Can we please have a ban on all the "haha stupid tumblr sjw" secrets. Because they aren't really secrets and it's getting really really old.

SA

I agree with that though? Because most of the time the obvious SJW secrets are shit string just as much as the anti ones. The arguments about tumblr and sjw are always the same either way and it's getting really old and starting to make it not enjoyable.

If we don't ban them, I'd be fine with seeing them relegated to the failbar.

A lot of the time, it really feels like the fannish component in those secrets is only included to escape the failbar anyway.

DA - Mostly a lurker, but I actually enjoy reading the comments in those. Whether I agree with the secrets or not, it makes for a lively discussion.

I also find them a bit more interesting, because they can touch on pan-fandom issues, whereas a strictly secrets only, no discussion of platforms or fandom trends (which I think the SJ movement and anti-SJW definitely fall into right now) seems too narrow a focus.

YMMV, of course.

I agree with you, case. If you start censoring things just because someone doesn't like them, you'll have to start policing every little thing someone doesn't like. And here on fs, it's guaranteed people are going to hate on *something*, for whatever reason.

I'm mostly sick of it being used as open season on tumblr.

Tumblr stan detected.

- They are really secrets, or it's plausible that they would be secrets.
- We have so few secrets a day and people already think the comm is dying. If we banned everything people didn't like we'd have nothing.
- I'm sorry you feel like people are picking on tumblr. I like tumblr a lot, and probably half the people here or more use it. But it does have a certain culture (where it's okay to bully someone into deleting their blogs if they didn't get a joke, for example) and if someone says "Tumblr does this." they're usually referring to that culture, and not individuals who happen to use tumblr.
