Re: Shows you resent for becoming bad later on

I think shows should just end after five or six seasons, sometimes even sooner - Heroes, for instance, really would have worked fine as a mini series. The Office could have ended in season five with Jim and Pam expecting and Michael returning to DM, a bit warier and smarter. Friends... I would have loved for them to have ended sooner, but given Monica and Chandler a spinoff or something.

On the other hand, I saw the potential for Heroes, but they wasted it when they started going way far off with the storylines. I think it would have been better to flesh out some of the characters instead of going back and forth on who was related to who (ALL PETRELLIS!) and who was alive (bring back the father?) Too much wasted there.

Oooo a Friends spinoff with Monica and Chandler moving to the suburbs would have been an intriguing way to go.

Sort of like how Cheers ended up with Fraiser.

I tend to agree with this. I love shows with a strong story arc that knows exactly where it's going from beginning to end, rather than ones that just meander along for as long as they can before getting cancelled.
