I'm excited about seeing her and I like what I've already seen. But I can't shake the feeling her character is just a rerun of the original plan for Arwen. Also known as Xenarwen. (Excluding the whole Aragorn romance.)

I want to like this game, I really do. And yet I can't find myself in a great hurry to play it.

Secret because my friend has been reading me the novels bridging the plot of Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 and I really adore those but see above.

I actually liked the Horseman's backstory. For one, it actually ties the show more into the original short story. Two, I never liked the idea of making the Horseman a purely supernatural figure. I prefer him starting out as a normal person.

A nitpick: the Horseman is wearing the uniform of a Hessian officer of the late 1770s.

sorry, I'm wrong--Irving describes him as a "Hessian trooper."

The Hessians were soldiers, 18th-century German auxiliaries contracted for military service by the British government, mostly associated with combat operations in the American Revolutionary War.

Sidenote: I still haven't read Rainbow Factory, but I've been intending to. (I still don't think it'll ever be as good as Piracy, though.)

I discovered Marco Mengoni a few weeks ago on the MTV Europe Music Awards and thought his music was amazing. It wasn't until I found that he beated Max Pezzali for "Best Italian Act" (due votes) and I cannot listen to Marco without thinking he doesn't deserve it.

Secret because no one cares about MTV anymore, it's a very silly reason to be pissed about and because in the end I liked Marco's music.

Another secret? I really need more friends into Italian music.

I think she's a great character. I'd love to write down my opinions about her. But I've never weighed more than 110 lbs. I fear that I can never fully understand her struggles. And I'm positive that fandom would eat me alive.

It bugs me when people describe him as being "emotional" and imply it's Out Of Character for Holmes. Did we even see the same episodes? It wasn't like he was curled up on the floor in the fetal position weeping about his feelings, he simply stated them very matter of factly and acknowledged he had them. I worry a little about how emotionally crippled fandom is if this is what "emo" looks like now.

I despise and adore this game in equal measure. Sure, it brought me some excellent times with lovely people. But at the same time the Guild Masters and the company are disgusting and manipulative. But the story is something that I can't wait to see how it plays out. But I can't help but feel that they haven't fixed the intrinsic issues with the game that keep me from playing more often.
