Meanwhile, actual sex offenders get away with legitimately bad shit every day and nobody cares.

I was abused by a classmate and bullied by several people back when I was in school and nothing was ever done about it. I was even harssed by a teacher and my parents came in to talk to the school principal several times and nothing was ever done. So nothing makes me more angry than the way schools handle real issues while blowing up things that aren't a problem.

:( I'm sorry to hear that, anon. And sadly, I've heard stories like this before.

I almost feel like they pounce on issues like this because they're easy to deal with and then point to them and say "Look! We're doing something!" when it's stickier to deal with actual abuse, especially when the abusers come from privilege in the community.
