Agreed, OP. I watch a lot of crack AMVs myself, but good luck finding ones that don't have Eren/Levi in them. And I'm so far past sick of fics that are billed as Someone/Levi and then have BREAKUP WITH SURPRISE EREN/LEVI AT THE END.

I'd scroll past if I could, but NOBODY LABELS THIS SHIT. The fandom is just really bad about it. :/

Not secret: I despise Eren/Levi and its shippers...

Secret: My problem isn't the two being Out of Character or the age difference, but it's the... PREVALENCE of the ship in fanwork. I wanna watch funny Shingeki No Kyojin vids on YouTube? Eren/Levi! I wanna read some good ol' genfic? Eren/Levi!! Well, okay, I'll just browse for and find some random awesome fanart and hopefully there won't... EREN/LEVI!!!!!!!

Huh, really? I've always seen way more Levi/Erwin fanart than Levi/Eren, but maybe it's just me. I'd start to get pissy too, though, because I don't like the ship either and I'd hate it see it everywhere.

Looks like this fandom may need to do something similar to what happened with Torchwood, where there was a specific comm dedicated to everything NOT Jack/Ianto.

That said, I was just happy to find out I wasn't the only Levi/Mikasa shipper out there.

Something that really bothers me about the prevalence of Eren/Levi is the fact that shippers treat Eren like he somehow has this special relationship with Levi, that is actually canon
I see it with the 'ship wars' all the time. Like Erwin is Levi's Veronica, and then Eren must be the Betty
But how did Eren become Levi's Betty? HOW. Those two hardly have interactions in canon

It is so hard to find a fanfic of Eren that doesn't have him with Levi
Fandom just turned Eren into Levi's little boyfriend.

my problem is the OOC. WAY too OOC.

i could have liked it, i think, if the shippers understood who these two people are, what their actual relationship is, and tried to make it work despite those.

but nope all it's tired/boring/silly aus, epic misinterpretations of canon, and unholy mixtures of both of these. the behavior i've seen from shippers was also generally gross tbh.

Why is this a secret? Most people dislike the pairing (I know that is the most popular pairing (most fanart/doujins/fics), but at the same time I have only seen people hating it. It's weird).

I have no problem with you hating the ship (or any ship), but I have to say I'm still on the side of "get over it and scroll." Scrolling past the ships you don't like is just what you have to do in any fandom. Here, I just went on the tumblr tag, and of the first 20 posts, only 1 was Eren/Levi. Oh gosh, my scrolling finger, it aches...

I see about equal amounts of Hanji/Levi, Erwin/Levi and Eren/Levi - I don't mind them, don't ship them and for some odd reason I hate Erwin. Though, it's true, depending on your corner in the fandom, they're the mains. Along with Jean/Marco (and Krista/Ymir, but I rarely see them, only art).

My only ship in SNK is Mikasa/Sasha :( .
