Also, damn that artist's Watson looks hot in that pose. Which is saying something since I usually don't like this style of art. How is it that smoking is so hot when you don't have to smell it?

Maybe they did temporarily share a cell at some point, for something they were either unjustly accused of or were let off for, which Watson never wrote about? Seriously man, there's so much space and so many years of untold tales in this canon. You can imagine almost any kind of adventure happening ;)

It's ridiculous, but whenever I reread "Charles Augustus Milverton," I feel a little disappointed that Holmes and Watson didn't eventually end up sharing the same cell. It's such a weirdly romantic (in an Anne Shirley way, not a sexy couple way) idea.

Also, I did not notice Watson's bloodied hands until just now. And why IS he so happy? And why does Holmes have that amused expression on his face?

I lament the fact that nobody would understand me if I started to use the "romantic in an Anne Shirley way" expression. Usually I just go with "romantic as in Romanticism".

But I wish somebody wrote a fic where Holmes and Watson share a cell.

D'awwwwwwww...actually, I think I read a fic (that wasn't slash!) of that a loooong time. Where some criminal fatally shot Holmes, and while Watson was trying to comfort him while he was dying and apologizing because there was nothing he could do, the criminal woke up from getting beaten up and shot Watson too, and they were both glad because it meant they could die together. It was teenagerishly OTT melodramatic and I loved it.

(I'm weird, I know. But GDI I wholeheartedly love all of Anne Shirley's little romantic imaginings and notions so damn much.)

Maybe because, while the art is nice, it doesn't look anything like Cumberbatch and only a teensy bit (well, basically only the moustache) like Freeman? It could pretty much be anyone in a light haired/dark haired duo without the secret attached.

That's obviously not meant to be a picture of BBC Sherlock Holmes. It's of ACD Sherlock Holmes - you can tell by the mustache and the overall appearance.

Yeah, I know :) Since Remus and Sirius and Sherlock and John are characters book-based and fanartists have some freedom when it comes to looks, they can be many potential characters. Not to mention I'm more into HP fandom than SH (any 'verse) fandom, so... Not that weird that I made that association. But I though it might occurred to someone else.
