Yeah it can happen where they learn to... live with them and stuff... *shudders* But falling in love with someone who raped you?

I wouldn't use CSI or Law and Order as examples though. Forensic Files = real CSI and I think I've only heard one case where someone grew familiar with their captor.

All a matter of will, IMO.

Weak-willed people may see it as the only way to survive, while those with stronger wills would never allow themselves to go down that path. It's like being in an abusive relationship.

I personally find it offensive that you say it being a matter of whether or not a person is "weak" or "strong" willed.

for all interested, I found a really interesting page on Stockholm Syndrome here (http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/bb/neuro/neuro04/web1/kkrasnec.html)

Even a strong-willed person might give in or even just do what they're told for reasons unknown. It has nothing to do with willpower. It has to do with the situation. If you want to stay alive, you'll do some things that are, to borrow a fandom expression, pretty OOC.

Weak and strong willed? D:

I'm a weak willed person but I'd rather die than form a relationship with someone who was trying to abuse my body... >_>

Patricia Hearst and Elizabeth Smart are two of the "leading cases" for it, that's totally not the right terminology, forgive me
