Yeah. I can think of other, more modern examples from people who should know better, too. It's because women are playing hard to get or don't know what's good for them or are just so damn uptight, you gotta fix 'em with a good hard dicking! And even that doesn't scare me as much as what Laurel K. Hamilton did-- in the hardcover copy of a book, so many people complained about the rape scene (which she didn't think was rape) that in the paperback all the times the protagonist said no (but none of the times she tried to push him away or evade him) were removed. And somehow that's not only not rape, but not at all gross and sketchy. Not that LKH is a shining beacon of anything resembling sense, but this sort of stuff happens in fiction all the time.

Honestly, I prefer the straight out rape fantasies that occur in fanfic. I hate rapefic, but at least the authors make no bones about the fact that it's rape even if there's true love at the end. And don't start me on the other het tropes that people only get all riled up about when they're done in yaoi (apparently stupidity is okay when the characters are a boy and a girl! Feh).
