I just read what was an excellent rape recovery angst fest up until the final chapter, where the author pulled the "rape was a good thing because all this other stuff ended up happening and maybe we never would have met so I'm happy I was raped yay lets have sex!" It was totally unexpected judging by the rest of the fic and its careful and considerate treatment of the subject. So annoying and frustrating.

Oh that's the worst, something similar happened to me this morning. Thinking a fic is doing something smart and interesting,then being rudely disillusioned...
