Re: Recs for a Dan Brown fan?

Could give the Flashman books a try. They have the history and some thrills, and although they're not quite as... quick-moving as a Dan Brown book, which may be a problem on a train, they are much better. Generally I think I'd go towards historical fiction, really. Historical fiction is the definition of dadlit to me.

I read those myself actually, and I'm fairly sure he'd like them too! But sadly there's no Swedish translation -- and he won't read books in English, no matter how much I try to persuade him.

Ah!

Well, that is a quandary, then.

Yeah, it's a pity... There are so many books I'd love for him to read, that were never translated into Swedish. Hell, the same goes for me -- I've been wanting to read Romance Of The Three Kingdoms for ages now, but has it ever been released over here? Nooo, of course not! Meanwhile Swedish publishers were all over Fifty Shades Of Grey; translating that in record time.

(Sorry for the mini-rant!)
