Just watched this tonight in memory of the great actor. I can understand him losing for "Lawrence of Arabia" because he was up against Gregory Peck in "To Kill a Mockingbird", but it's a crime he didn't take it for "The Lion in Winter". No one remembers either the actor or the movie that won that year.

It was Cliff Robertson for Charly (based on Flowers for Algernon), and quite deservedly so. He does quite well anyway, but O'Toole was MUCH too young for Henry.
