I know the thing to do in this fandom is to say you just ship them in the movies and that's fine because it's a completely different canon with different backstories. But I think I ship it more in the comics. Sketchy 60s backstory and all.

do natasha and clint have backgrounds in the movie(s)? (beyond BUDAPEST and natasha saying that allusion to brainwashing in the avengers, i'm otherwise coming up blank here)

i imagine natasha's past comes up in captain america 2, though?

I've met a ton of elitist comicbook fans who will practically burn you alive at the stake for just admitting that you're a clintasha shipper, despite their history in the comics.

They had very little/open-ended chemistry in the Avengers, and the vast majority of fic I've seen portrays them as close friends, maybe some history, but ultimately more sibling-like than anything else.
