I don't know if Ty should be getting all the awards (love the show, but sick of Modern Family winning pretty much everything they're nominated in), but why is Phil your least favorite?

Mostly because he's the most cliche'd character. Most of the other characters are unique in some way, but he's completely a stereotype that is typical in comedy. And yet he's the one that gets the praise.

I would hardly call Phil a stereotype; he is well intentioned and childish, but that doesn't make him wrong nor right, and it leads to both good and bad things. He is not a but monkey and his spouse often finds herself in even more bizarre situations than him, so they both defeat normal sitcom relationships. He gets called on his mistakes, and he calls people on them.

If anything he is a subversion, and Ty Burrel really plays him with charisma and childish wonder and awkwardness, so the praise is well deserved IMO.
