Transcripts!
Secret 1 - Modern Family (TV series)
He's by far my least favorite character on this show and the least funny cast member.
Secret Because: Everyone else seems to think he's the best part and supposedly should be getting all the awards.
Secret 2 - Doctor Who
The biggest reason I'm sad he's leaving is because it means we won't get to see Matt's Doctor under a different show runner. I really dislike a lot of Moffatt's stuff and the general direction the show has taken under him. But on the other hand, I love Matt's portrayal. He's the one reason I've kept watching. I think he could have been my favorite Doctor under a different showrunner.
Secret because: Usually people either hate everything about Moffat's time including Matt or love everything (or almost everything).
Secret 3 - Once Upon a Time (TV series)
Snowing is my OTP. I find it refreshing that there's a couple on TV that isn't defined by Unresolved Sexual Tension, misunderstandings, will they/won't they cliches and the general stupidity you'd find in traditional on-screen romances.
As a couple and individuals, I also think they're great rulers and not at all obligated to forgive Regina and Rumple for all the evil they've done.
Secret 4 - One Direction (musical group)
I've only just started listening to them, and it was around the time my partner ended our relationship of three years. I don't think I would've made it without them.
The secret is that I'm in my late twenties. Oops.
Secret 5 - Natasha Romanov, Clint Barton, The Avengers, Marvel comics
I know the thing to do in this fandom is to say you just ship them in the movies and that's fine because it's a completely different canon with different backstories. But I think I ship it more in the comics. Sketchy 60s backstory and all.
Secret 6 - Warriors (novel series), The Underneath (book), Treasure Planet; furries
Considering my extended 'obsession' with animal (especially cat) related media as a child, looking back, I am genuinely surprised I didn't turn out to be a furry. [Treasure Planet image] I shipped them before I even knew what shipping was.
(Note: I understand that not all furries are raging perverts and I can appreciate well done anthro art now and again. I would just be REALLY WEIRD explaining it to people).
Secret 7 - Phineas and Ferb
I've never been much of a fan of Alternate Universes, and it's starting to really piss me off that the only Perryshmirtz fic I can find is with human!Perry. Unless he changes into a human through the course of the story (by one of the [this following word is stricken out] good [normal text now] evil doctor's -inators, for instance), it's Alternate Universe. He's a damn platypus, people! Yes, there's some old fic, but very, very little new stuff, it's all human!Perry now.
Bonus secret: I hate it if Perry can talk, too, even when he's human. I feel like even if he COULD talk, he'd be one of those people who say very little.
(I recently saw someone on Tumblr announcing that they were happy that platypus!Perry is no longer being written. No! Goddamnit, I want my canon-compliance" Grawhh!)
Is it that much to ask for fic with platypus!Perry in it? I'm not asking for smut (I don't think either one would want to attempt that anyway), just fluffy fic with a platypus and his human nemesis/boyfriend. I feel like pulling my hair out.
Secret 8 - Sherlock Holmes (?)
I am a little disappointed that "Moran escapes from prison and exacts revenge on Holmes for killing his Best Friend Forever" isn't a more popular fanfic trope.
Secret 9 - Prostitution kink in fanfiction
I have a huge prostitution kink, especially in fanfic. Even though I'm a girl, and therefore this is an "okay" kink for me, it still makes me feel really skeezy sometimes.
Secret 10 - Power kink in fiction
I have an obsession with the idea of controlling/dominating/winning the complete devotion of characters that are well-meaning but potentially dangerous. I'm sure it's a power fantasy on my part, but it's a lot more than just a sexual kink. It plays into fics and ideas that have nothing to do with sex.
I should be able to just enjoy it as something specific to fiction, but I can't help worrying that this fascination might sneak up on me in real life if I ever meet a guy or girl like that.
Secret 11 - Vampire Weekend (rock music group)
I'd like Vampire Weekend a lot more if [Ezra Koenig] he wasn't in the band. I can't stand how pretentious and high on his own self-importance he is. (He can sing tho).
This is basically blasphemy to most fans.
Secret 12 - Maleficent (Disney movie)
I want to see this movie but I hate Angelina Jolie.
Secret because: I'm a huge Disney fan (a CM even) I shouldn't let the actress deter me from seeing this movie.
Not Secret - Good King Wenceslas (Christmas carol)
Good King Wenceslas is the epitome of an awesome boss: attentive and aware of his surroundings, asks his employees questions when they know more than he does, uses his position of power to help the poor, encourages his employees to do the same, doesn't let them pussy out because a task is hard, but is more than happy to help them and support them during it.
