Probably Dangan Ronpa.

It would be funny if the OP is talking about something like Diabolik Lovers. Dubcon vampire anime needs more of the right kind of fans.

I feel yah.

I like a lot of niche japanese media stuff, but some of the fans are pretty awful.

Secret 10 - Small fandoms

[Picture is a lake?]

As much as I want more people to get into it, my biggest fear is that my comparatively small fandom (For a Japanese piece of media) will be invaded by the Shingeki No Kyojin/Free!/Dangan Ronpa types of fans.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Do these fandoms have similar fans? idk, I watched Free and read SnK, but I haven't really touched the fandom for either of them.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there's a lot of overlap between SnK, Free, and Dangan Ronpa, especially on tumblr. The first two have a bit more, I'd say, but it's not uncommon at all to find a fan of all three.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I've watched Free and SnK, but I've never heard of that third one. Is it a bit more obscure?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Kind of! It's a PSP visual novel that's about kids put into a situation where they have to kill each other. It has a Let's Play on the Something Awful forums that really took off and it's getting localized probably because of how it took off. But I think it's more that anime fandom has more overlap with itself than it does with visual novels. (Dangan Ronpa did have an anime, though.)

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
I think the fact that the three anime were going on at the same period of time kinda influenced that.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure what you mean by saying "types" of fans, because I think I've only met one person who's into all three. It's kind of a spectrum.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know about Free, but when I hear about DR fandom I assume it's a type of (Tumblr) fan who came from the Homestuck fandom, and I've definitely seen them involved in SNK to a degree.

Don't worry, we're probably not interested in whatever shitty no name animu you're watching ^_^

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Excuse me, I'll have you know that Sparrow's Hotel is the best anime ever created.
