Help with a chromebook?
(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 12:30 am (UTC)(link)The situation is this: She doesn't have internet, but wants to play games, but there were no games on the computer, like with a windows computer, or whatever. We tried using the chromebook/google play thing, but those require the internet to play the games.
So, does anyone know how to add non-internet needing free games to a chromebook?
Re: Help with a chromebook?
The Chromebook pretty much relies on internet, so your neighbor will need it.

There should be a section in the chrome web store called "for your desktop" that has games that run offline. But, a chromebook is really not designed to work very well offline.

Like above anon said, here's the available offline Google apps. Chromebook has WiFi, so what she should do is find a place with free WiFi (cafe, library, etc.), go there to download what she likes, and then use it offline at home. She'll have to use that strategy a lot with a Chromebook.
