Weird thing I noticed about myself.

I'm not sure how common this is, but I've noticed certain foods have a tendency to give me hiccups. Apples are by far the worst, I can hardly ever eat an apple without getting hiccups for at least a little bit. I have no idea why that happens.

Are you chewing your bites enough? I know I tend to get the hiccups when I eat apples if I eat it too fast or don't at least have something to drink with it.

I think so, I'm not swallowing big un-chewed chunks of apple or anything. It happens even if I've sliced the apple first too. I do take big bites though so that might have something to do with it. I do the same thing with pears, and never get hiccups from them though. Maybe something about the texture?

I get hiccups when I'm really sleep deprived.

I have no idea, either. D:

Diaphragmatic muscle spasms can be caused by swallowing air (which is easy to do if you are eating fast) and also eating too much (or really anything that could put pressure on your diaphragm).

Apples to a lesser degree, but especially cheese and milk. I'm not entirely sure why it is linked to these foods for me.

Paprika gives me gas. And boy is it toxic.
