Agreed.

Granted, The Hobbit really is an awkward book to convert into a movie - in terms of pacing, plotting and building up to a climax, the story isn't very satisfying in a cinematic setting because it's basically filler with an ending. And we want to somehow tie into LOTR, showing how the drama builds up. But most of it is... so awkward.

In theory, the necromancer storyline makes sense. I think so far it's been underwhelming, but whatever. The rest of the added/changed stuff is just awkward and makes the movie way too long.

I think it would've been fine as A movie. As THREE movies? Yeah, the filler's getting a little obvious.
