It makes me so sad that we won't be getting any more. I'd be okay with them writing their own Poirot stories if it meant getting more of Suchet's portrayal.

Secret because: It's disrespectful to Christie, and who cares about Poirot anyway?

I have been putting off watching 'Curtain' for so long for precisely this reason: I love Poirot and Suchet's portrayal and it's so sad there won't be any more.

(also Curtain made me bawl when I read it and I'm not ready for the amount. Of tears that will come when watching the adaptation)

Why would it be disrespectful to Christie? Don't people make pastiche-y adaptations of these kinds of iconic characters all the time?

Anyway, Suchet is the boss and I'm gonna miss him :(

Suchet is so awesome. But...is it really an insult to Agatha Christie? Is this a thing? Do people really never make pastiches of Poirot or other Christie characters?

Well, Suchet thinks it is. He has said in interviews that he won't do any original stories.

I haven't even managed to read "Curtain", because I just want to pretend that he's gonna live forever and solve 1000x more crimes. I'm happy living in my denial. I don't know if I can even bring myself to watch the last episodes. :(
