Thirding the not having a scale thing. My family is perfectly fine not knowing our exact weights. The only time we would really need to know our own weights is in like a doctor's office or other medical situation, at which point they would already have a scale.

Also, when people (in the course of a conversation/appropriate context) ask me how much I weigh and I say I don't really know, their reactions are priceless. >:)
