No rape, you say? Serial killers with motives other than rape? YES! That combined with "the character study and drama is very strong" and "slow psychological burn" just convinced me to watch this show.

Absolutely! It really immerses you in Will's and Hannibal's lives, and you get all this intensity and intimacy with their interactions, especially in the therapy scenes. It was just announced that season 2 starts February 28th, and this is a show that benefits hugely from rewatching (plus it's only 13 episodes a season), so there's still plenty of time for that if you do end up liking it.
