Fuck me, I'm broke. I spent it all in the span of 24 hours. I got a pretty big bonus check yesterday and today is my pay day, so I got a pretty nice chunk of change. I hadn't done any Christmas shopping until yesterday, and I paid all my bills today....a bunch of shit happened and I'm worried now that I don't have enough money to go buy the tablet and sewing machine I was going to help my siblings get for my parents for Christmas. Gaaaahhhh.

Can't help you with this year, but next year you might want to start shopping in October. It helps spread out the cost and lets you plan for emergencies better.

Actually, I can help with this year. Explain to your folks what happened, and offer to buy the things next month. Who knows, you may even catch an after-Christmas sale.

I second what iceyred said! I will often tell people they're getting their presents in January. It seems like all the important bills want to hit right around Christmas.

Urgh I feel your pain. I'd budgeted for Christmas, but I hadn't budgeted on needing to replace my phone so now it's all a bit too close to the negative line. I managed to grab a shift for xmas day, I'm hoping that'll make up for it. In the meantime it's sucky and I still have a few more gifts to get argh.

I can relate. Finding what my family wants is almost impossible and when I do find it it costs a fortune.
