And most people either live locally or rent apartments. Some people live an hour or more away by bus, so it's not ideal, but most are 10 mins walk away

It actually sounds like a really great experience. And while you may be missing out on more traditional college life, traditional college folks are missing out on a lot that you're lucky to experience.
