I dunno, from what I know about it, it just seems to be saying something I've heard a million times before, which is that reclusive/obsessive people are always inherently dysfunctional in some way and not just weird people going about life in a way that makes them happy. The former type of person does exist (people being different from each other and all), but you never really hear about the latter type.
(I know there's probably some point I'm missing, but that kind of thing always rubs me the wrong way. :/)
