Yeah. :( I think it was kind of always hinted that Carter would be the one to die, so her death, while it was unexpected and a real kick in the pants, wasn't as heart-tugging as wondering if Lionel Fusco (who has taken several leaps in badass over the series) was going to see his son again.

I must've missed the hints. :/ Maybe the heartbreak would have been less had I caught them.

I'm glad Lionel is still alive, though. He's a likable character and a good person and his son deserves to have a father. Though...that just makes me think of Carter's son. Both are pretty depressing situations.

Apparently Carter's actress went into the job knowing that the character would eventually die, just not the when and how.

Yea, I actually saw an interview with her where she said the same thing! I was surprised to hear that but glad that she knew about it beforehand and seemed fine with it; it would've been worse had she not had any indication it was coming.

As for the show though, Carter was the last person I expected to die. (Well, alright, no, that's Reese, but seriously, for whatever reason I thought she was in the show for the long run. Ahhhhh the irony.)

The second she and Reese had that moment in the morgue, I knew.

I mean, from the promos, I knew it was going to be Fusco or Carter (it wasn't going to be either of the leads, it wasn't going to be Root because her story hadn't played out, it wasn't going to be Shaw because that wouldn't have enough impact).

That does make sense. (NGL, I was hoping Root would die, though I knew it unlikely. Or that it was just some fake out and none of the main cast would die. Plenty of shows do that.)

When I heard about the scene with Reese I thought, “That's typical.”
